Hearing Screening will be conducted in Week 5 and 6 of Term 4
Place and Time: AIS School - during school hours
Cost: S$107.00 inclusive of 7% GST.
Results: Please note that all parents will receive a report regarding the screening, and if a recommendation is made for follow up, parents are to complete this with their preferred specialist.
Important information regarding the Hearing Screen:
- An audiometry evaluation is a painless, noninvasive hearing test that measures a person's ability to hear different sounds, pitches, or frequencies.
-
Pure tone audiometry test measures the softest, or least audible, sound that a person can hear. During the test, students will wear earphones and hear a range of sounds directed to one ear at a time. The loudness of sound is measured in decibels (dB).
Important note:
Screening allows us to discover any areas in which your child may require further follow up.
Your Specialist doctor or Audiologist, may decide that no action is required following their assessments following our recommendation for a follow up.
Even so, this does not mean that the screening was inaccurate. Screening tests are designed to identify children who may have a concern, but a more thorough examination is always necessary to determine the extent and severity of any concerns identified.
The Nursing Team will notify you regarding the outcome of this screening and suggest a follow up for your child as/if needed with your specialist. Parents are to arrange their own follow up. All records of health screenings will be made available to you to assist with a follow up.
The AIS nursing team, in conjunction with our specialist support partner, Dr. Christopher G.L Hobbs - Consultant ENT Heat, Neck and Thyroid Surgeon, is providing hearing screening.
